The Nigerian International Secondary Schools’ Fair, London-2019 Edition.

The Nigerian immigrant community in the UK is a thriving one. “According to statistics obtained from the Central Association of Nigerians in the United Kingdom (CANUK), it is estimated that about two million Nigerians currently live in the UK and a sizable number of them, live in London. Their main abode is Peckham, a lively community in north London”. nigerianreporter.com/2016/04/30/nigerians-living-in-england/
One of the major concerns for these Nigerian immigrants in the UK is the desire to inculcate Nigerian values into their children along with the Western values. Such values as respect for elders, strong family loyalty, concern for others, social decorum, hospitality and patriotism expressed through language, dance and art are important to them.
Another source of concern for these Nigerian immigrants in the UK, is the security of their teenagers in secondary school. Statistics show that the lives of young people between the ages of 12 and 17 is becoming…

WINNING STRATEGIES FOR BUSINESS GROWTH IN 2019

It is common knowledge that business in Nigeria can be tough. Even in Western economies where things are stable and predictable to some extent, statistics show that 50% of small businesses fail after 5 years.  The numbers, as expected, are worse in Nigeria. According to The United Nations Industrial Development Organisation’s Investment and Technology Promotion Office (UNIDOITPO) in Nigeria, studies have shown that only 20 per cent of SMEs manage to survive in the country. According to Honey Ogundeyi and Tunji Andrews of 635 by GTBAnk, “Statistic has it that 80% of businesses crash and burn within the first 18 months of start-up’. Extremely discouraging.

Though a key regional player in West Africa, the Nigerian economy contracted for five consecutive quarters from 2015 to 2017. The economy returned to growth in the second quarter of 2017. Nigeria is Africa’s biggest oil exporter, and also has the largest natural gas reserves…
